The task status is used to indicate the progression of a task from creation to completion. This article covers the different ways for marking a task done 'Done' in Equinox.

Update a Task Status from the Edit Task Screen

To update a task status from the Edit Task screen:

  1. Go to the Tasks tab of your case

  2. Click on the name of the task you want to edit 

  3. This opens the Edit Task screen

  4. Amend the task status field to '[D] Done'

  5. Click Update to save the changes 

Update a Task Status from the All Tasks List

To update a task status from the All Tasks list:

  1. Navigate to the All Tasks list from:

    • The Default Dashboard 

    • The 'Outstanding Tasks' icon in the top toolbar 

    • The 'All Tasks' link in the Navigation section of the left-hand menu  

  2. Click on the status you want to update

  3. Select the new status 

  4. The change will be saved automatically. Equinox will confirm the change by displaying a 'Task Updated' message in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Note: If the task is linked to any pre-set components, users will be prompted to action the components when marking the task as 'Done'.

Mark a Task as Done Without Running Components

When you mark a task as Done, the Mark as done wizard will trigger any associated pre-set components. If you want users to have the option to mark tasks as Done without running components, you can turn on a setting to allow this. To do this:

  1. Go to System > System Preferences 

  2. Click the Tasks tab

  3. Tick the box next to Allow closing of Tasks without running components

  4. Click the Update button on the bottom right to save the changes 

  5. When you go to mark a task as 'Done' that has a component associated with it, you'll see a 'Mark as Done Only' button on the bottom of the screen

  6. Click the Mark as Done Only button to mark the task as done without actioning components
