The document checkout feature is designed to be used in Equinox systems that have multiple users.
A user can ‘checkout’ a document when they download a file so that other users in their system can see that the document is being edited. This will prevent users from accidentally working on the same document at the same time.
The checkout box at the top of the Document details indicates if another user is working on the document. Checking out a document does not prevent other users from updating the document details or document file (either within Equinox or via the plugin) but acts as a warning to other users.
It is possible to override a document checkout if another user is not able to check the document back in.
The History section will show an audit of who has checked a document in and out.
