This section outlines the information fields and settings that are used to store information about Applicant, Inventor and Licensee contacts.


To view an applicant, inventor or licensee:

  1. Go to the Address Book
  2. Click Applicant and Inventor in the left-hand menu

  3. Search and click on the name of the contact whose details you want to view/edit

  4. This takes you to the Edit Statutory Contact page where you can view and edit applicant/inventor/licensee details.

 

When viewing a Person the following information is displayed on this screen:

Information

The number of cases where this contact is an Applicant, Inventor or Licensee, as well as links to these cases.

Linked Clients

All the Clients and Associates this contact is linked to as a Statutory Contact.


Details


The Details section is used to store the official contact information about the Applicant, Inventor, and Licensee. 

 

The following fields are available by default:


Field

Category

Use the toggles to enable the category/categories of the contact (Applicant, Inventor or Licensee). It is possible for the contact to be more than one type of category. See Contact Categories for more information.

Name

Enter the name of the contact to be used for internal reference.

Formal Name

Enter the official name of the contact as it appears on any Official Registers. (Title, First Name, Middle Name, Last Name).

If the contact is an Organisation only use the First Name.

Address Name

Enter the name of the contact that should be used in the postal address.

Salutation

Enter the name used to greet the contact within correspondence.

Address

Enter the address

Nationality 1

Record the official nationality of the contact.

Nationality 2

Domicile

Record the country of residence for the contact.

Phone

Record the phone number for the person.

Email

Record the email address used for generating correspondence.

D.O.B.

Date of Birth

Notes

Enter any additional information about the contact.

Entity

Select an entity size to help classify the contact.

Active

Set the contact as active or inactive. Inactive contacts cannot be added to new cases.

LanguageThe language used when corresponding with the contact.

The section on the left of the screen lists the number of cases this contact is linked to as a statutory contact.

 


The number of cases is a link to view an overview of the case information.


Linked Clients

This section at the bottom left of the screen lists the Clients and Associates the contact is linked to as a Statutory Contact.

The name of each Client or Associate is a link to view the Organisation Details.
