Note: Users require certain permissions to use this functionality.


This option enables users to merge an applicant, inventor or licensee with another contact in this section of the Address Book.


This option can be used to remove duplicate contacts.


  1. Go to the Address Book
  2. Search and click on the contact name
  3. Click ‘Merge Contacts’ in the left hand menu
  4. Enter the name of the other contact > click ‘Next’
  5. Choose which contact should remain and which one should be deleted
    Note: The cases linked to the contact that is being deleted will be transferred to the remaining contact
  6. Click ‘Merge’


The contact that is being merged will be deleted from the Address Book. The cases linked to the deleted contact will be linked to the remaining contact.


This action is non-reversible.
